On 30th November, PSB in collaboration with the Seychelles Fire Rescue & Services Agency organised a Basic Fire Safety training for staff. The training was conducted by instructor Mr. Denis Rose and Mr. Moumou.

As part of the cooperation in the field of improvement and development of Government activities, signed between the Government of the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Seychelles, a launching ceremony for the Seychelles Executive Leadership programme was held on the 26th October.

May 20, is the International Human Resources Day and the theme for 2023 is "HR Shaping the New Future" which focuses on the role of HR as a profession in leading change to improve working lives. The HR practice has evolved from an administrative function to management and ushering in a new era of employee-centric work culture. Therefore, it is not about slipping back into traditional ways of thinking and working. It implies HR as leading a future that will be more inclusive, flexible, and participative so that workers, organizations, and society as a whole will benefit.

The Commonwealth Secretariat organised a one-week online training programme on Government Performance Management in February 2021.

Department of Public Administration organized training on Common Service Standards for front liners.

“Strengthening Public Service Performance: Translating Results-Based Management in to Action” was theme of the Symposium that was held on 22nd June 2017 at Savoy Resort and Spa Hotel at Beau Vallon, on the occasion of Public Service Day. The Symposium was organised in partnership with the Ministry of Finance, Trade and Economic Planning and supported by the Word Bank.   

The Department of Public Administration rewarded six of long service staff in a short ceremony as part of its activities in December 2017. Mrs. Yvonia Richardson -Director General was recognised as the longest serving employee of DPA.

The above training programme took place in Singapore from 25th-29th April in Singapore. The programme provided an interactive platform for government officials to share, explore and discuss issues and challenges that leaders face in public policy development and administrative reforms.The Department was represented by Mr. Michel Bistoquet – Senior Policy Analyst in the Chief Secretary’s Secretariat.

Vice-President Danny Faure has urged all staff of the Department of Public Administration (DPA) to deliver better service, go for high standard and serve with a smile in their everyday work.

In the context of salary administration, general public service means all public service employees excluding CEOs and Constitutional Appointees.
